Ed Sheeran, the ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker, recently opened up about his personal life and how he feels about being a girl dad of two. While the singer has been thriving in his professional life, this marks one of the rarest times he has shared a glimpse of his personal life.
Ed Sheeran opens up about being a girl dad…
In an interview with the Not Gonna Lie podcast with Kylie Kelce, Ed Sheeran gave a couple of tips for becoming a quintessential father, and the experience of being outnumbered by the girls in his house. Sharing the best piece of advice he has ever received, the musician expressed that he is always the one making breakfast, while also taking the evening shifts. “Always be the one that gets up first, and let your partner have a lie-in. Do the breakfast because that’s the time of the day that your kids are the least angry, because they’re rested,” the ‘Sapphire’ singer said, adding that his daughters like to help him put the dishes away. Additionally, Ed affirmed that he also likes to hang out with his daughters, Lyra (5) and Jupiter (2), in the evening. “Reading 40 different stories and having someone fall asleep on your shoulder is actually really lovely,” the 34-year-old said.
How does Ed Sheeran feel about being outnumbered by girls?
Elsewhere in the podcast, when Kylie asked about how he feels to be outnumbered by girls in the house, he responded that it’s quite lovely. “I love it. Like, I really, really, really love it,” said. Recalling the time when his elder daughter was born, Ed mentioned that he didn’t really have any gender preference. However, once his daughter was born, something clicked, which made him feel like he could have so many daughters and be fulfilled. While Ed Sheeran didn’t specifically mention that being a girl dad is better than being a boy dad, he has his biases. Claiming that the ‘energy’ is different, Sheeran noticed that there is a stark difference and his friends, who have sons, live completely opposite to that of the musician’s family.
