Director Nitesh Tiwari has taken the internet by storm with the first glimpse of his upcoming movie ‘Ramayana’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. Actor Vishnu Manchu has now revealed that he has been planning a mythological project based on the Ramayana for a very long time — but from the perspective of Ravana.Vishnu Manchu plans to make a mythological movie on the RamayanaIn a recent conversation with Nayandeep Rakshit on his YouTube channel, Vishnu said he already has a fully developed script that traces Ravana’s journey from birth to death. When asked about an ideal cast for the movie, Vishnu shared, “The only person who immediately appears in my mind for the role of Lord Rama is actor Suriya.” He named Alia Bhatt for the role of Sita.
Mohan Babu to play the role of RavanaVishnu went on to share that the idea was first conceived in 2009, and he had even approached Suriya at the time. “But, because the budgets were not working out for me, it didn’t work out. The director of the film was supposed to be the legendary filmmaker Raghavendra Rao. My father was supposed to play the role of Ravana. I have the script and dialogues ready for it, but I don’t know if I will ever be able to make it.”The ‘Kannappa’ actor also expressed enthusiasm about portraying Lord Hanuman. However, Raghavendra did not want Vishnu to play Hanuman, as he envisioned him in the role of Lord Indrajit. Vishnu wants Suriya’s brother — actor Karthi — to play Indrajit. He further suggested casting Kalyan Ram, brother of Jr NTR, as Lakshman, and veteran actor Sathyaraj as Jatayu.Vishnu Manchu’s KannappaVishnu Manchu was last seen in Kannappa, a mythological film in which he played the lead role. The movie also featured Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Mohanlal, Kajal Aggarwal and Preity Mukundhan in key roles.
