Not many Bollywood stars can claim that they have crossed paths with Donald Trump. That’s not it, not many can even say that the American leader didn’t leave any impression on them. However, Sushmita Sen certainly is an exception.

For the unversed, Sushmita Sen, after ‘No Problem,’ which was released in 2010, took a break as she wanted to take care of her second daughter, Alisah. The same year, she was approached by the Miss Universe organisation, which wanted their franchise in India. While speaking to Mid-day about the same in a 2023 interview with Mid-day, Sushmita Sen recalled, “I do have bills to pay and I am a single mom.”
She was already busy with her jewellery business, which was spread all over the Middle East. At the same time, she was doing endorsements, and then came this offer, which Sushmita felt was “a payback of sorts.”“So, I said, yeah, what does it entail? Because I had never had direct relationships with vendors before. I was the star; everybody did everything around me. I don’t even have anyone’s number. So, I got grounded and I realized how to deal with people, because I signed a pretty intense contract when I took on this franchise. And it was owned at that point by Donald Trump, which didn’t make it easy or fun,” she said.
Sushmita Sen says Donald Trump wasn’t her boss
When asked, was Donald Trump her boss? The actress revealed, “No… Luckily the only people who were my bosses were Paramount Communication and Madisson Square Garden” These two names owned the organisation when the actress was an employee of it for a year. However, the actress did meet him, owing to the association. Recalling their meeting, Sushmita shared that Donald Trump didn’t leave any impression on her. “There are some people who leave an impression, and not because of their achievements necessarily or their sense of power. It’s just the people that they are that you take from them – inspiration or something – that helps you move forward. He is not one of them,” she said.
