The decision, as Tijori recalls, was made with sensitivity and logic — and one he respected despite the initial disappointment.In conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Deepak revealed that while he was one of the final contenders for the role after multiple auditions, the part ultimately went to someone else. He was initially told that he had been selected, but later called in and informed otherwise. However, Deepak took the decision in stride, admitting he found the reason behind it fair and didn’t feel disheartened. Having faced many struggles in life, he said he had grown used to unexpected outcomes and accepted the situation practically.The actor further shared that Sooraj Barjatya had explained the decision to him with warmth and honesty. After reviewing the final auditions with their families, the feedback leaned heavily in Salman Khan’s favor — especially from the women, who were drawn to his charm and looks, which suited the romantic nature of the film. Although Deepak delivered a strong performance, Sooraj felt Salman was a better fit for the love story.
