Mohanlal’s ‘Drishyam 3’ is one of the most anticipated films in Mollywood, and the makers are now steadily moving towards production. Director Jeethu Joseph recently admitted that he prevented the Hindi version from being made ahead of the Malayalam film. In a recent conversation with Mathrubhumi, Jeethu revealed that there had been discussions about starting both versions simultaneously. However, the makers of the Hindi adaptation were advised to hold off. “There were demands to make the Malayalam and Hindi versions together, but we haven’t made any final decisions on those matters. There were initially some plans to begin with the Hindi version, but after a hint was given that this might be dealt with legally, they backed off,” he shared.Jeethu clarified that the Malayalam script is still being finalised. The film is likely to begin production around October this year.Climax Locked After Sleepless EffortsJeethu recently attended a college event and shared an update on the film’s scripting. “I finished writing the climax of Drishyam 3 last night. I’ve been under immense pressure for a long time,” the filmmaker shared on stage.Despite juggling other projects like ‘Mirage’ and ‘Valathu Vashathe Kallan’, Jeethu has maintained an intense schedule to shape ‘Drishyam 3’. He disclosed that his writing sessions begin as early as 3:30 a.m. each day.Revisiting the ‘Drishyam’ Legacy‘Drishyam’, which was first released in 2013, follows the gripping journey of Georgekutty, a simple cable TV operator whose life is upended when his family becomes entangled in the mysterious disappearance of a young man named Varun Prabhakar. The sequel, released in 2021, continued the tale of Georgekutty’s fight to protect his loved ones. The ‘Drishyam’ franchise was remade in multiple languages, including a successful Hindi version starring Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran and Tabu.
