Director S Shankar’s recent directorial venture ‘Game Changer’, starring Ram Charan, did not receive a positive response from the audience and also failed at the box office. The director has now confirmed that he is making a dream project based on the novel Velpari.Shankar to make a movie out of Velpari novelWhile attending a recent event as a guest for the novel Velpari, which sold one lakh copies, Shankar said, “Once, my dream project was Enthiran. Now, my dream project is Velpari. Whenever a big-budget movie is made, people say it would be a grand venture like Chandralekha, but truly, Velpari will be as big, if not bigger, than that.”
He further elaborated on what makes Velpari such a monumental project for him: “As far as I believe, this film could be one of the biggest ventures ever made, owing to the elements of costume, art, and the level of production it will require. However, the scope of technology makes me say that Velpari would be a global-standard movie, on par with the likes of Game of Thrones or Avatar.”Rajinikanth’s expectations about Shankar’s upcoming movieSuperstar Rajinikanth, who attended the event as the chief guest, did not hold back in appreciating Shankar’s impact on the growth of Tamil cinema in the 1990s.
