Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film Spirit, starring Prabhas, recently grabbed attention due to its casting changes. Following a rumoured rift with Deepika Padukone, the makers decided to cast Triptii Dimri as the female lead. The Animal actress has finally broken her silence on joining the project after Deepika’s exit.
Triptii confirms she’s replacing Deepika in the Prabhas-starrer SpiritIn a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Triptii addressed the casting developments in Spirit. “I’ve just been working with Vishal, and that film is also going to come out soon, so I’m quite excited about that. After that, of course, comes Mr Vanga’s Spirit, and I’m really excited about it. It’s a beautiful film,” she shared.Triptii’s character in SpiritA previous report from Rangasthalam revealed that Sandeep Reddy has already finalised the music for the film, with composer Harshavardhan Rameshwar on board. The report also hinted that production is expected to commence in the second week of September 2025.Prabhas is expected to portray a police officer in the film. Sources indicate that Sandeep has asked the actor to block bulk shooting dates to ensure an uninterrupted filming schedule.Meanwhile, Pranay Vanga let slip a crucial update during the Celebrity Cricket Mela event in the US on July 4. He reportedly mentioned that Prabhas would begin shooting for Spirit starting in September 2025.Deepika Padukone’s exit from SpiritDeepika Padukone reportedly exited the project after the makers denied her request for an eight-hour workday. While working hours on set have become a hot topic among actors in the industry, a report by News18 stated that Deepika was dropped from the film due to her high fee and demands for a share in the film’s profits. However, no official confirmation has been released by either Sandeep or Deepika regarding the matter.
